About

Living and working in Cornwall, Debbie’s practice is concerned with themes around repetition of line and broken rhythms echoing traces sensed within, as well as those seen around her in natural and man made environments.

This is realised through the act of printmaking, using processes that have differing paces, ranging from the initial sedentary act of carving repetitive marks into the wood, through to the contrasting embodied energy of screen-printing, rapidly layering and responding to the work as it develops, instinctively building rich surfaces with use of colour and mark-making.

Conversely she hopes to generate a slowing down and self reflection in those viewing her work, through its repeated line and abstract forms.
